WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join us in the creation of useful and actionable insights to support IKEA in strategic decision making, using traditional and advanced analytical techniques.

Our diverse and global team within Decision Intelligence is growing, and we would love to talk with you, if you recognize yourself in the following:
• Data Processing
You feel comfortable extracting data from relational or graph databases, spreadsheets, web logs, text files, etc. You also gather information from communication with co-workers.
You know how to “wrangle” data, i.e., to inspect, clean, transform, and validate data, making it ready for further analysis.
• Data Analysis
You use various techniques and code to conduct analyses, identifying trends and patterns in the data. You adapt the type of analysis to the problem to be solved, running statistical tests and developing predictive models to provide relevant answers and recommendations.
• Data Visualization
Storytelling through data visualization is a vital component of your work. You know what charts should be accompanying the analysis to summarize and illustrate the most important data. And you are very skillful in creating those charts using business intelligence products.
• Written Communication
You communicate insights in an easy way and can summarize in few sentences a complex idea without trivializing it.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as Business Analyst, you use your domain experience to:
• Understand business problems and work out concrete data-based solutions.
• Interpret data and turn it into recommendations which can offer ways to facilitate, accelerate, or automate business decisions.
• Contribute to the dissemination of learnings and success stories, by creating case studies and communicating these throughout the organization.

Furthermore, you drive an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values.

YOU NEED:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data analysis or data science (retail and e-commerce is a plus)
- Good skills in scripting languages (preferably Python)
- Extensive experience in data processing
- Broad knowledge of statistics or machine learning techniques
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- A team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with co-workers, and loves sharing knowledge.
