Product Engineer (Layer-glued team)

Kaunas, Kaunas County - Explore le lieu Développement du Business Temps plein

Description de poste

Company description

Do you have a solid base in manufacturing and product development methodologies? Would you like a position where you work in a truly international environment? Then this might be a chance for you!

My name is Nadezhda, and I work as a Business Development Manager in Kaunas for the Layer-glued team. Layer-glued team belongs to Category Area Wood – one of IKEAs biggest Category Areas. Wood is an essential material and important part of the IKEA heritage and we can proudly say that around 60% of our sales in IKEA are connected to wood-based products. Our Product Engineer has moved on to a new assignment within our company and now we are looking for his replacer.

Are you ready to be part of a journey towards affordable sustainability for our customers? Are you the Product Engineer we are looking for?

As a part of Category Area Wood, you will have access to a huge knowledge base and experience in both leadership and Wood material, production and value chain. We offer trust and space to test and try, explore, make mistakes, and develop us and our partners.

Job description

The Product Engineer is responsible to lead the development and implementation of new products, the moves of products from one supplier to another one and the improvement of existing products based on quality performances and customer expectations. But this is not an ordinary Product Engineer assignment! You will have an opportunity to try Production Engineer‘s tasks as well!

Quality in all of our products is really important for us. In IKEA we work with our suppliers in a tight team of 3 functions: quality, logistics and business development. You would be the one leading the quality agenda in the business team AND leading product development at the factory floor from a technical point of view to secure scalability for further implementation at other suppliers. Together with IKEA of Sweden Home Furnishing Businesses (HFBs) you will define the evaluation & test requirements the suppliers have to fulfil during the development stage, follow up that requirements are fulfilled before production start and secure that the product is at correct quality level according to IKEA Documentation (including packaging, tests and comply with relevant standards, demands and guide lines).

Oh, and did we tell you this role will collaborate a lot with category Comfort Seating on an ongoing LVL project? The intention with this is to take a responsibility on how to develop the supply chains for this material to provide end users (IKEA HFB suppliers) with availability, quality, and best prices.

Sounds exciting, right?
