Job description

The Business Intelligence Specialist's role is to strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing and rolling out BI solutions to end users.

The Business Intelligence Specialist will be responsible for automation of key reports whilst building a robust BI solution that supports our organizational needs.

  • Provide expertise in design, development and implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics systems.
  • Work with technical resources to design and model the data archiving systems.
  • Assist in developing BI reporting and analysis applications.
  • Provide optimal and cost-effective solutions to business teams in achieving business objectives.
  • Provide functional and technical guidance to business teams when needed.
  • Conduct business meetings with customers to determine project requirements and milestones.
  • Analyze the business performance and develop reports on performance metrics.
  • Stay updated with ongoing business developments and latest market trends.
  • Create a repository of the BI research results and findings.
  • Manage data for transactional sources and prepare effective reports.
  •  Assist the BI Manager in developing the project plans inclusive of budgets, timelines and forecast.
  • Compare operational progress against planned project objectives and suggest corrective actions for variances.
  • Review project information to identify the risks and opportunities and present it to the key stakeholders.
  • Skilled at SQL writing, modelling and querying relational databases.
  • Ability to design, build, test and maintain data analytics solutions, making sure they meet business requirements and user needs.
  • Create and enhance data modelling, reports, and analytics solutions necessary to support dynamic business information needs
  • Gather information for project-related research, analyse that information, and produce reports based on the analyses
  • Prioritize, plan, and track project progress

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in the fields of business, computer science or information technology.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years in the field of Business Intelligence and Analytics
  • Experience with BI reporting and data viz solutions (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Proven predictive and/or descriptive analytics experience
  • Proven ability to apply analytical and creative thought
  • Experience with large retail corporations a plus
  • Skilled in working with other Microsoft Office products and Windows environment

This position is full-time and is located in Kuwait. Some travel may be required.
