Who you are

You are a passionate people leader and are energized by coaching and mentoring leaders in order to see them grow. You are able to clearly define expectations and set challenging yet achievable goals, whilst also challenging existing ways of working and inspiring curiosity in others. You have a solid commercial background and can balance the needs of multiple functions and stakeholders in order to achieve results. You have the ability to develop knowledge of the local market and business conditions quickly and take commercial decisions based on this information. You are strategic in leading a commercial agenda, promoting a forward-thinking approach with your leaders to be the most efficient in your use of available resources. You are also available to work across the store opening hours, including some late night and every other weekend.

Your responsibilities

Through your team and commercial partners, you will secure the shopping experience to ensure satisfied customers across all channels and increased sales and profitability for the Canberra store. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
• Deliver and lead the commercial action plan for your work area to maximise sales and generate sustained long -term profitability.
• Secure a competent and high performing team of inspired and empowered co-workers by agreeing clear goals, expectations and conducting follow up.
• Work with your team and other functions to ensure that the solutions within your work area are locally relevant & consistent throughout the different sales channels.
• Lead, inspire and develop your team to understand the omnichannel customer shopping journey, and the part they play to ensure a seamless and positive end to end customer experience.
• Monitor the competition across the omnichannel spectrum and engage with your matrix partner to determine course of action.
• Lead and drive the commercial calendar to secure the vitality and seasonality of the IKEA store and ensure it meets the omnichannel direction.
